Take the tough love approach. Make ten bets and, if you don’t win anything at all, walk away. But if you do win anything at all, make ten more bets. This is when you ask the hard question: Is this machine a winner? Not, “Do you have a good feeling” but “Did I win enough in 20 bets for it to be worth staying?” I call this the Tough Love Approach.

If it is, make another 30 bets and ask that hard question again at 50 bets. If it isn’t leave. If it still is, make 50 more bets for 100 total bets and ask for the last time.
